2020 Camp Dates
Why Choose Us?
We spend a lot of time in the saddle! Our focus first and foremost is on horse safety, as well as horsemanship and correct riding instruction. Each camper will receive lessons based on their riding ability. Campers who have no experience will learn the basics with the instructor. For more experienced campers, we will individualize their instruction based on their current skill level. Beginner and intermediate riders are welcome. When we aren’t in lessons, we go on trail rides and spend time grooming, bathing, and feeding treats. The rest of our day is focused on horsemanship and lessons on the ground. No arts & crafts here! Our days are busy and our campers learn a lot in their time with us.
Camp runs from 8:30 – 3:30 each day with a break for morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack.
Cost is dependent on the length of the camp. Prices are always listed on the registration form.
We do spend the entirety of camp days on horse-related activities and the kids often get multiple rides in each day. If you have specific questions about camp activities please let us know. Space is limited so please register early.
The minimum age for Day Camp is 7, exceptions must be approved in advance. Please ask, we are always happy to discuss your rider’s abilities with you and make accommodations whenever possible.
Gear up and get ready to ride!
Paddock boots and half chaps or tall boots, long pants and a riding helmet are mandatory. Gloves and a crop are recommended. All of these items can be ordered online at Dover Saddlery or Smartpak but we recommend a trip to the Dover retail store in Austin for your first purchases. They will help you get what you need in the correct sizes.
What to Bring?
Campers should bring all of the gear above, as well as, a water bottle, 2 snacks and a sack lunch. A pair of closed toed sneakers and a change of clothes is nice to have, also.
Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather, your camper will be outside for most of the day. Check the weather before you come to the farm!
